Fashion Tip of the Week .17

So this week is perfect because it collides with New York Fashion Week. And this week I want to present to all of you fashion forward styles. With short tips so y'all dont have to do all that reading girls!

FASHION TIP OF THE WEEK #17:

I recently found myself admiring Carolina Herrera's work for the spring 2006 collection. You all should soon find a version of these photos that I found promising in your favorite stores...

1 - the reinvention of white shirts with drawstrings - hot commodity; 2 - again with the drawstrings in the shirt makes well with the vest. 3 - This outfit exemplifies chic. The embroidered skirt paired with a simple top with a short sleeved jacket. 4 - Preppy is making a big come back with vests and this outfit shows the "ok"-ness to wear a knit-vest with a low scoop-neck. Pair it with a nice A-line skirt. 5 - Well I simply love this outfit because it utilizes lightweight materials. But what I think will most help you out is the embroidered top that she has over.

So for a summary of this collection key staple items to have BEFORE the season hits:

1_ Fitted Scoop-neck vests

2_ Embroidered skirts

3_ Embroidered jackets (NOT TO BE WORN with the skirts!) -Becomes overkill on the embroidered look.

4_ Thin-material layered items whether that be jewelery or jackets paired with a slik/charmeuse top.

5_ A-Line skirts (*Only for those who need a reduction-in-weight-look in the thigh and hip area. OTHERWISE, tailored skirts fitted towards your curves

6_ Im sorry to say this but HEELS HEELS HEELS! Open-toed stiletto heels. Girls, start training your feet for that!

Another designer that I want you girls to look at for IDEAS of LIKE*-outfits (* = meaning stuff that you can find at Forever 21 or where that looks someone like it) is Zac Posen. He just created a more causal-head-to-the-stores line that is ready-to-wear. Here is his Spring 2006 collection:

1 - Boy-cut denim. You see how it is a little bit more flared and baggy at the bottom? Well that is the new trend on how and what you girls will be wearing soon. I know I have said tailored pants but the boy-cut tailored is fitted every where BUT the leg opening. Plus, the shirt is cute too.

So key staple item in this collection:

1_ Boy-cut baggy-leg opening denim pants. Key element: TO BE WORN WITH HEELS!

So I hope the photos help. Some of you may like it, some of you wont but remember, dont be a fashion follower. Wear the key things that will help you become a trend setter! I know I've been a fighter for heels (esp. stilettos) but in the long run, you will thank me. Next time, I will introduce some fashion looks that will help you out for the fall.

Check back next week for the next fashion tip! Always dress to look your best (Even if it's a pair of sweats and a tee)!

Fashion Tip of the Week .16

So first and foremost...I wanna thank everyone who has continually read my fashion tips of the week...cuz that is just so steller that everyone continues to support me and takes my tips into consideration! So far...the count is over 1000 views! THANKS! So its not my fault that y'all didnt help me all the way to 1000. My suprise was that I would get live photos of possible outfits. But o well. Just make sure you check out the coming tips for a suprise.

So this week, is all about layering. How to properly do it.

FASHION TIP OF THE WEEK #16: Layering... Most girls might not know that they arent properly layering their camisoles with their sweaters or v-necks or whatever that it may be. So here I am to teach how to properly layer.

If you are going to wear a long sleeve deep v-neck then it is recommended that you wear a seamless-cami to put under it. BUT, make sure that the colors ARE NOT THE SAME!

My rules:

# 1- DONT WEAR THE SAME COLORS WHEN LAYERING! Betcha alot of y'all didnt know that.

#2- When layering...it is STRONGLY recommended that you layer thin clothing. Because bulkiness will only add onto the weight.

#3- Wear clothing that is FITTED to your body because it will slim down the appearance of layered materials.

#4- Contrasting colors are important.

#5- Layering is only meant for tops...NOT BOTTOMS!

#6- Never layer the same type of shirt (but there are exceptions: white-beater like tanks/a-tanks.... the other one is when you layer shirts...if one is more fitted and longer than the other, then its welcomed.)

#7- the longer shirt SHOULD ALWAYS be bottom layer than the top one.

#8- The whole point of layering is to show off different pieces so make sure that the under layer is showing in a significant manner.

#9- Popped collar polos are for those who have small necks, not stubby ones. So dont try to layer vests with popped collars.

#10- Finally, layering is important to looking your best in any situation whether that be casual or a more formal occasion!

So as soon as i can. i will get some photos of correct layering. Gluck. And if y'all any questions about whether an outfit might seem questionable for you.. take a picture of it together and post it. And we will get it squared away!

Check back next week for the next fashion tip! Always dress to look your best (Even if it's a pair of sweats and a tee)!

Fashion Tip of the Week .15

So yes yes! i am back! and partially regenerated with new tips for this week! But first let me thank you all for being such patient people and given me a reason to continue my tips and hushed those critics that trash my fashion tip of the week! So a big thanks to all of you!

FASHION TIP OF THE WEEK #15: So this tip of the week is a rehash of tailored clothing because I really dont think society gets the whole idea of that. I mentioned it a little bit before but time to go into depth about it. Another thing I want to discuss is tapered pants.

So tailored clothing is super super important to making the clothes fit the body and important for you to sport the clothes like how they are meant to sport them!

Here are some key things you need to know:
1_ Pick tops that clinch to the arch of your sides.
2_ If you got perky friends then you should wear what I like to call the faux "x" cut.
3_ If you happen to be big, then you should wear things that clinch at side where you bust ends (when supported by a bra). Thereby releasing the "rolls" and letting the bottom part of the shirt flow out and protecting you from showing rolls of any kind
4_ Find places that can create curves and find places to eliminate too much of a curve. Hence, the tailoring.
5_ Dont wear low-rise if you know you dont have a butt... that wont save you.
6_ Waist jeans will help support those who need lifts in the rear. Go 70s style.
7_ Have jeans hemmed if they are too long for you!
8_ Finally, throw some color into your wardrobe and be slightly daring with intermixing colors.

As for tapered pants, they can make you seem fatter than you really are ladies! So avoid tapered pants, and wear pants that will make you lose that extra fat!

*No pictures this time but I promise as the tips come along later... you'll see it. Plus...a little bit for now so I keep you salivating for more!

In the coming weeks, I want to discuss: How to put together a correct layering of particular outfits. And it is my hope that I get y'all to wear the new upcoming seasons and not be a follower of trends but to be a trend-setter! Ill be giving you tips to live a healthy and vivacious lifestyle and shed off those pounds through pieces that will make you appear slimmer then you are! These are just some of things Ill be talking about this week and the weeks to come...

Check back next week for the next fashion tip! Always dress to look your best (Even if it's a pair of sweats and a tee)!
